Perfect!
Works perfectly! We installed this about 50 feet from our house to have it right at the horse water tubs. I don’t want to deal with frozen hoses or carrying water buckets from the house during winter months. I did add a 3/4 inch hose and there’s no leaks and can quickly fill a 100 gallon trough. I don’t need the hose on there since we can put the water tubs under the hydrant since it’s plenty tall enough. I’m only using a hose right now since I clean the tubs often with this warm weather. I did originally have a very small hose from Walmart on this. It leaked everywhere because the hose was too skinny and this hydrant flows lots of water at once. Opt for the wider hose and you won’t be disappointed!

Works Well Except Bucket Slips Off
Hydrant works well opening, closing and draining. Hose connect is good. Only problem is bucket handle knob cast into spigot is too small for curve of spigot, and bucket slips off while filling. I will need to attach something to hold bucket handle better, maybe a shackle and hook? Maybe wrap heavy gauge wire around spigot knob to make it bigger? Too much trouble to remove and replace for this flaw, now that hydrant is installed.

Usually a better product
Was well made. Took awhile and some effort and review of you tube video to get it to stop leaking. Still has a small drip leak at hose connector

Finish could have been better
Bought this c-1000 to replace an Any-Flow that cracked. Tried replacing just the head, but the plunger was jammed in the pipe, so I had to replace the whole unit. The one I received was the red color, not the "ugly" green as others received. Aside from digging up the old water line, the installation was pretty easy. I ended up getting a 3/4 fip to 3/4 barb 90 degree for my connection. The C-1000 takes a 3/4 fip connection. I used pipe dope as suggested in the installation video (search YouTube as Merrill has their own channel for how to videos). My only complaint is the paint job. It was assembled then painted, which is sloppy. They lost a star for the finish work.
